The music of Ravel, Babajanyan and Dvořák are prime examples of our innate love for home and our need to create art from this love by encompassing idioms, folk tunes, atmosphere and rhythms. A journey through France, Soviet-era Armenia and the Austro-Hungarian empire within the Slovak lands.

S&F welcomes new guest artists, the illustrious American cellist Camden Shaw and the SSO Principal Horn, Englishman Sam Jacobs who join old friends Susie Park and Kathryn Selby in this gorgeous program. Colour, virtuosity and melody reign supreme in this blockbuster concert of reverie amid the prowess of two Romantic masters.

Our 2027 Season ends with a gorgeous program taken from the world of the high Romantic and focuses on the exquisite relationship between three of the most beloved composers of that era in Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann and Brahms. Peter Sculthorpe’s fabulous “Dream Tracks” rounds out the program featuring two brilliant Australian guests who join S&F for the first time - violinist Amalia Hall and clarinettist David Griffiths.
