Explore the Selby & Friends 2027 season
Maurice Ravel's 1917 solo piano composition Le Tombeau de Couperin is a tightly woven tapestry, threading together contemporary harmonies and baroque forms.
Written as epigrams for fallen friends, the pieces in the suite achingly look to the past while brimming with modernity. This gorgeous arrangement of his orchestral suite for piano trio is a favourite of the season.
Both guest string artists chose the Babajanyan Trio for this program to showcase the brilliance of its composer who was great friends with contemporaries Oistrakh and Knushevitsky and is rarely heard.
No season would be complete without Dvořák’s immortal “Dumky” Trio.
