SHOW TIMES
7:30pm - Doors
8:00pm - Oneohtrix Point Never
Please note this performance is presented in 360-degree spatial audio.

Oneohtrix Point Never is the primary project of Brooklyn-based artist, composer and Mercury prize-nominated producer Daniel Lopatin. From genre defining releases like Chuck Person's Eccojams Vol. 1 to the musical direction of The Weeknd’s 2021 Super Bowl half-time performance, the creative roots of Oneohtrix Point Never stretch to the very edges of the intersects between music, pop culture and history. A subtle master of contrast and chiaroscuro, Lopatin’s work as Oneohtrix Point Never melds the regimented clarity of the digital world with the warm emotive richness of its analog counterpart; a sonic body of work that feels simultaneously new and old, cold, yet bright and tense yet entirely free flowing.

For 2023 international touring, Oneohtrix Point Never is presenting a new solo live show titled Rebuilds which repurposes seminal tracks from his catalog in sonic discourse with newer releases. He is accompanied by live visuals performed by long-time collaborator Nate Boyce who developed a new real-time animation system that updates the graphical themes dating back to their earliest collaborations from over a decade ago. Oneohtrix Point Never's show at City Recital Hall will be the only show on his Australian tour presented in 360-degree spatial audio.

Lopatin has released numerous critically acclaimed albums including his most recent self-titled album, Magic Oneohtrix Point Never, a culmination of his work over the last ten years. Most recently he was the sole Producer for Soccer Mommy’s Sometimes, Forever and he was the Executive Producer on The Weeknd’s worldwide #1 charted album, Dawn FM and also performs on a majority of the songs. He has collaborated with numerous artists including Soccer Mommy, James Blake, Ishmael Butler, Charli XCX, Kelsey Lu, Iggy Pop, Rosalia and his production credits include The Weeknd, Soccer Mommy, Anohni, FKA Twigs, David Byrne, Moses Sumney and Nine Inch Nails among others.

His original film scores include Josh and Benny Safdie’s Uncut Gems (2019), Good Time (2017) for which he received the Best Soundtrack Award at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival and Ariel Kleiman’s Partisan (2015). His other film work includes contributions to Rick Alverson’s The Mountain (2019) and Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring (2013).

In 2018 he premiered a sold-out live multimedia concert MYRIAD composed from his album Age Of (Warp 2018) at the Park Avenue Armory (New York) followed by sold-out performances at prestigious venues worldwide including The Barbican, London and Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles. In addition to his directorial work for the Super Bowl half-time performance, he composed and performed the music for Chanel’s 2021 Metier D’Arts show.

Lopatin has been commissioned and exhibited extensively by Greene Naftali (2021), Sadie Coles HQ, London (2019), The Park Avenue Armory, New York (2018), Frieze Projects New York (2017); Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2016); Holland Festival (2014); Tate Britain, London and MoMA PS1, New York (both 2013); Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C., and Saatchi & Saatchi, London (both 2012); and The Museum of Modern Art, New York (2011) among others.
