Artistic encounters

Three formidable artists converge for an evening of astonishing music-making.

Andreas Ottensamer is one of the most exciting clarinettists performing today, celebrated for his international solo career, his tenure as Principal Clarinet of the Berlin Philharmonic, and his rapidly growing reputation as a conductor. Sharon Grigoryan is quite simply one of Australia's most brilliant and best-loved cellists. And Croatian–Austrian pianist Dejan Lazić has dazzled audiences worldwide, equally at home as a concerto soloist and chamber musician.

Together, they will showcase the range of their three distinct musical voices and instruments, in a concert illuminated by Romantic masterpieces.

Mendelssohn's timeless Songs Without Words and Schumann's Fantasiestücke chart the emotional landscape, while Scarlatti and Bartók provide a rhythmic counterpoint. To conclude, the autumnal masterpiece that is Brahms' Clarinet Trio brings all the threads together.
