Heralded as one of Aotearoa’s greatest musical exports, acclaimed singer and songwriter Aldous Harding returns to Australia to perform in the intimate sonic grandeur of City Recital Hall.

Harding's first live dates since March 2020 come in celebration of her acclaimed fourth studio album Warm Chris, the first taste of which came in the form of the singles Lawn’ and ‘Fever’, with latest single ‘Tick Tock’. Recorded in Monmouth, Wales, it marks her third collaboration with producer John Parish, who is best known for his work with P.J. Harvey. The album also includes contributions from H. Hawkline, Seb Rochford, and Jason Williamson (Sleaford Mods).

With glowing reviews from media such as NPRDouble JThe New Yorker and Pitchfork (who gave it 8.2 in a Best New Album review), Harding’s latest sees the skillful, acrobatic singer proudly moving into sunnier territory, delivering one of her finest works to date.

Harding’s charismatic stage presence and singular songs have captivated audiences across the globe. Don’t miss her when she performs live on our stage as part of CRH Presents Singular Voices series this October.

‘A supremely singular talent’ – Clash 9/10

‘Watching [Harding] perform is to be touched by something deeply human and oddly universal’ – The Guardian ★★★★

‘Aldous Harding is truly one of a kind’ – NME ★★★★

‘As much a great musician as she is an illusionist who dazzles the listener’ – DIY ★★★★

‘… A dazzling performance. Expect the ovations for her to echo down the years’ – MOJO Album of the Month ★★★★

Supporting Aldous Harding is H.Hawkline, a multi-instrumentalist and critically acclaimed solo artist from Cardiff, Wales.

The fluidity with which he can translate music into art and art into music is effortless. Paintings touch like poems, songs resonate like structures and his melodies sit like memories. Small wonder he has become a sought-after musician and artist playing for the likes of celebrated international artists Aldous Harding, Devendra Banhart and Tim Presley’s White Fence and producing album artwork for Cate Le Bon, Teenage Fanclub and Aldous Harding. He has giant hands like his Dutch forefathers and smokes like a chimney.

He is a health and safety nightmare.

He is stone soup.

Bold songwriters. Sublime acoustics. Enthralling solo concerts. Singular Voices at City Recital Hall invites contemporary artists of the highest calibre to step forth on one of the most visually and sonically beautiful stages in Australia, dissolving the boundary between listener and song with only the barest embellishment to their exceptional voices.
