Equal parts mesmerising and electric, Grammy Award winning jazz guitarist Bill Frisell returns to Sydney for one-night-only.
For over 40 years, the extraordinarily original and prolific Bill Frisell has been a seminal figure in modern American music. From jazz, bluegrass, country, rock and roll, to folk, interwoven with metamorphic splendour and bursts of the avant-garde, Frisell’s sound traverses contemporary American musical history, whilst always maintaining a uniquely identifiable sound.
Frisell is a twelve-time Best Guitarist winner in the DownBeat Critics Poll and alongside the 45 albums in his own name, he has contributed to projects with fellow jazz luminaries John Scoffield, Chick Corea, Jim Hall, John Zorn, Ron Carter, Dave Holland and Charlie Haden, and collaborated with popular artists Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, Sting, Bono and Bonnie Raitt.
Joined in Sydney by two of the world’s most in-demand jazz musicians - Thomas Morgan (bass), and Rudy Royston (drums), this special concert features music from the 2020 Valentine album which DownBeat dubbed “jazz playing at its most sublime.”
Back in Sydney after six long years, do not miss this iconic voice in music delivering big-sky grooves with one of jazz’s most deeply interactive trios.

Joining Bill Frisell Trio is special guest Gary Daley Quartet

Gary Daley is a renowned Australian composer, pianist, accordionist, and teacher based in the Blue Mountains, NSW. Best known for his work with top jazz groups like The Catholics, his acclaimed projects have featured at major venues and festivals nationwide. He has toured nationally and internationally, most recently with the award-winning Mara Big Band and Eishan Ensemble.
In 2023, Gary’s quartet, Bungarribee, released the album Hunger, which received rave reviews. The band toured Tasmania and performed at the Orange Jazz Festival, among other venues. A standout moment of the year was the title track Hunger being selected for performance at the ISCM World New Music Days in Europe. The piece was featured at the festival in the Faroe Islands in June 2024.
In addition to performing, recording, and touring, Gary serves as the Artistic Director of the highly regarded concert series Live at the Village in the NSW Blue Mountains, which presents premiere artists from across Australia and around the world.
