One of the world's most celebrated pianists, Angela Hewitt returns to the Hall in March for a remarkable recital exploring the music of Bach, Scarlatti and Chopin.
Internationally renowned for her interpretations of Johann Sebastian Bach, Hewitt has spent more than four decades captivating audiences with her extraordinary musical intelligence, clarity and artistry.
Described by Gramophone as “effortlessly eclipsing all competition”, her landmark recordings of Bach's keyboard works have established her as one of the composer's greatest living interpreters.
In 2020, Hewitt was awarded the prestigious City of Leipzig Bach Medal, recognising her outstanding contribution to the performance of Bach's music. For this Australian tour, Hewitt brings together four sparkling sonatas by Scarlatti, Bach's magnificent Partita No. 4 and some of Chopin's most expressive piano works.
The programme traces the musical connections between three great composers, revealing the beauty, imagination and brilliance of the piano across centuries. A rare opportunity to experience one of the great pianists of our time in recital.
