Avi Avital
Musica Viva Australia
- Classical Music
CONCERT UPDATE
Unfortunately, Giovanni Sollima is no longer able to come to Australia to perform with Avi Avital, after contracting Covid 19. We are disappointed he will miss this tour and we wish him a speedy recovery.
Musica Viva Australia is pleased to announce Avi Avital will now be joined on stage by the virtuosic talent of Konstantin Shamray. These artists will do what they love best: collaborate with a perfectly matched artist on a program of great works.
Presenting works by Mozart, de Falla, Bartók and others, the concert skips between the folk traditions which inspired these great composers and the art music that grew from these same traditions. The program also includes Sollima’s Prelude for mandolin solo – it promises to be an enthralling concert.
We thank you all for your continued support as we navigate these complexities. We sincerely hope you enjoy the exhilarating musicianship of Avi Avital and Konstantin Shamray.
[Avital is] one of those rare musicians whose scintillating virtuosity is amazing and whose innate musicality creates utterly convincing interpretations.
