Mumma's home for (gay) Christmas!
Direct from London's West End, Olivier Award-nominated Trevor Ashley makes his long-awaited return to the Sydney stage, just in time for Mardi Gras!
After bringing the house down as Roger (Elizabeth) De Bris in Mel Brooks' The Producers, Australia's international queen of cabaret is back, bigger, bolder and gayer than ever, for one night only at City Recital Hall. And this time, he's celebrating the music that made us who we are.
From Judy Garland to George Michael, Madonna to Cher, and Heather Small to the divas who gave us life, Trevor takes audiences on a riotous musical journey through queer history — from Stonewall to Mardi Gras, from heartbreak and protest to liberation and love.
Expect powerhouse vocals, outrageous stories, a healthy dose of political incorrectness and the anthems that took us from the closet to the streets, and onto the dance floor.
Backed by a sensational five-piece band, Trevor Ashley Keeps It Gay! is a glittering, gloriously camp celebration of the icons we worship, the battles we've fought and the fabulous community we've become.
Because Pride isn't just a party. But darling, that doesn't mean we can't have one!
Trevor Ashley Keeps It Gay! is proudly part of the Mardi Gras + program.
Appropriate for ages 15+. Expect adult humour and mild course language.

Olivier Award nominee, international cabaret sensation and professional troublemaker, Trevor Ashley is one of Australia's most celebrated performers, drag artists, writers and directors.
From his early days performing at Sydney's legendary queer institutions Stonewall and The Imperial to London's West End, Trevor has spent more than two decades dazzling audiences with his extraordinary voice, razor-sharp wit and larger-than-life interpretations of the world's greatest divas.
His acclaimed portrayals of Liza Minnelli, Cher and Shirley Bassey have taken him from the Sydney Opera House to New York and London. His spectacular orchestral tribute Diamonds Are for Trevor, celebrating Dame Shirley Bassey, was filmed for television and is considered one of the greatest Australian drag performances of all time.
Trevor originated the role of Miss Understanding in the Australian production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical, before going on to star as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, Thénardier in Les Misérables, King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar and Pharaoh in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
He was also runner-up in the international drag singing competition Queen of the Universe, hosted by Graham Norton.
In 2024, Trevor conquered London's theatre scene with his scene-stealing performance as Roger De Bris in Mel Brooks' The Producers, first at the Menier Chocolate Factory and subsequently at the Garrick Theatre in the West End, earning him a nomination for the 2026 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical.
Not content with merely wearing the frocks, Trevor is also an acclaimed writer and director. Alongside longtime collaborator Phil Scott, he has created a string of outrageously naughty, adults-only pantomimes, including Fat Swan, The Lyin' Queen, The Bodybag, Moulin Scrooge!, The White Mermaid and the latest scandalous offering, Deep-Heat Rivalry.
Now, after conquering the West End, Trevor returns to the city where it all began, bringing his trademark combination of vocal fireworks, wicked humour and unapologetic fabulousness to Sydney Mardi Gras.
Sydney, your queen is home. And she's keeping it gay!
