As part of the 30th anniversary celebration of DeYunShe, “Shengping Yalé – DeYunShe Guqu Showcase” presents a special evening dedicated to the beauty of traditional Chinese performing arts.
Led by renowned performer Guo Degang, this unique production explores the rich heritage of Chinese guqu – a collection of storytelling, music, and folk performance traditions that have been loved by audiences for generations. In addition to comedy, Guo Degang will also perform traditional Chinese songs, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience another side of the DeYunShe stage.
The performance features a variety of traditional forms including Jingyun Dagu, Meihua Dagu, Danxian, and Henan Zhuizi, each presenting a distinctive style of Chinese musical storytelling.
Blending humour, rhythm, and poetic storytelling, the show creates an immersive cultural experience where laughter meets classical melodies. From witty dialogue to powerful vocal performances, audiences will be transported to a world where traditional artistry and contemporary stage energy come together.
