City Recital Hall strives to assist all patrons including patrons with specific needs. Please let our Box Office know when booking if you have a hearing aid, require accessible seating or are a Companion Card holder.
GETTING HERE
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
City Recital Hall is easily accessible by train via Wynyard and Martin Place train stations, Wynyard light rail, and by numerous bus routes stopping along Martin Place. Visit the Transport NSW website to plan your journey.
DROP OFF POINTS
There is a drop off and pick up point directly in front of the Pitt Street entrance, please note that this is a no parking zone.
PARKING
There are two accessible parking spaces on Pitt Street near the corner of Angel Place. These spaces cannot be booked. For information about further accessible car spaces in the Sydney CBD please visit the Tomorrow's Sydney website.
Wilson Parking operates a car park next to City Recital Hall at 123 Pitt St, Sydney. Parking spaces can be booked online ahead of time. Accessible parking spaces are available in the car park beside the venue lifts. Patrons can access the Hall directly using the car park lift from one hour prior to performance times.
Wheelchair Accessibility Information
STREET ACCESS
City Recital Hall has two main entrances. The Pitt Street entrance is a step-less accessway from the street leading into the Entry Level foyer. There is also lift access at the Ash Street entrance to the Entry Level foyer.
BOX OFFICE ACCESS
Our Box Office is located at the Pitt Street entryway, accessible from the street level.
The Box Office is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and from 90 minutes prior to all performances (excluding public holidays).
LIFTS
There is lift access to all levels of City Recital Hall. Public lifts run directly from the Wilson Parking car park beneath the building to all levels of the venue. Elevators from the car park can be accessed from one hour prior to the performance start time.
ACCESSIBLE SEATING
Accessible seating is available throughout the venue. Dedicated wheelchair positions are located on all levels of the auditorium. The standard number of seats available for people in wheelchairs is five places, however, should we still have availability in a suitable area we can accommodate additional wheelchair seating.

ACCESSIBLE TOILETS
Accessible toilets are available on all levels of City Recital Hall:
Ground Floor – located next to the Cloak Room
Level 1 – located near the Function Room and Auditorium Door 2
Level 2 – located near the lift well
Level 3 – located near the lift well
COURTESY WHEELCHAIRS
City Recital Hall has two courtesy wheelchairs available for use. If you wish to use a courtesy wheelchair, please call the Box Office on 02 8256 2222 or email [email protected] to arrange this prior to your visit. Upon arrival at the venue we can arrange for Front of House staff to meet you with the wheelchair and assist you to your seat.

ASSISTANCE ANIMALS
Accredited assistance animals are permitted into the venue. Please be ready to present proof of accreditation upon request by venue management.
EASY READ SIGNAGE
There is easy read signage throughout City Recital Hall. Signage includes internationally recognised symbols and braille.
Information for patrons with a hearing impairment
ASSISTED LISTENING DEVICES
City Recital Hall now uses Auracast assistive listening technology to broadcast audio within the entire theatre. If patrons have an Auracast-enabled device, they can connect to the system directly via the Bluetooth settings on their device. Alternatively, Auracast receiver packs can be collected from the Cloak Room in the ground floor foyer. To use this system:
1. Press and hold the button on the right for two seconds to turn the unit on/off.
2. Plug in headphones or neckloop in wither of the two ports at the top of the receiver.
3. Press the ‘scan/select’ button (the button on the right-hand side of the receiver under the display) to select the City Recital Hall broadcast name, and then hit this button again to connect.
4. Set the volume to a desired level using the volume buttons on the left side of the receiver.
Hearing loops at service counters
For added accessibility, localised hearing loops are installed at the Box Office and the Cloak Room.
NATIONAL RELAY SERVICE

Information for companion card holders
City Recital Hall is a proud participant in the Companion Card program. All City Recital Hall events are part of the Companion Card initiative.
For patrons who require assistance of a companion or carer, a ticket for the companion is issued at no cost to the Companion Card holder. If you have a Companion Card please let our Box Office staff know when booking tickets so that a second ticket can be arranged.
Stair access
Patrons are advised the City Recital Hall entrance on George Street has six steps down to access the Ground Level Foyer, alternatively there is a porch lift available from the George Street entrance. There are no steps at the Pitt Street entrance and there are two lifts located near that entrance to take patrons to all levels.
Though lifts are available to all levels, these will be subject to wait times, especially just before and just after a performance. If using the stairs, patrons should note the following steps need to be climbed to reach each level from the foyer:
