City Recital Hall ushers in a new era of accessibility with Auracast technology

City Recital Hall has installed a state-of-the-art Auracast broadcast audio system in a venue-wide upgrade that significantly improves access to its exceptional sound quality.
The new system delivers high-quality audio directly to compatible hearing aids and assistive listening devices, allowing people to fully engage with events from anywhere in the venue, from the Auditorium to the foyers, and function spaces. Localised hearing loops are installed at the Box Office and Cloakroom for added accessibility.
City Recital Hall CEO Kate Wickett said the upgrade is an important step in ensuring equitable access to power of live music.
“City Recital Hall is known for its world-class acoustics. Upgrading to Auracast moves us closer to our broader mission of fostering a more inclusive live music ecosystem, where quality sound is available to everyone.
“Traditional systems like induction loops can distort music and limit where users sit. Our new system overcomes these barriers by delivering high-quality sound to a range of compatible devices across our entire venue,” she said.
Patrons can access the technology through their own Auracast-enabled devices like hearing aids or headphones, or via a receiver pack they can collect from the Cloakroom at no cost. The installation was delivered in collaboration with leading audio-visual distributor Jands and AuraFuturity.
City Recital Hall’s Auracast installation is supported by the NSW Government through the Sound NSW Venue Upgrade Grant program.
