Launching City Recital Hall’s new Sound and Vision series of films with live music, Welsh Music Prize winner Gwenno brings her stunning live score to Mark Jenkin’s BAFTA-winning Bait. An indie box-office smash in the UK, Bait uses archaic cinematic techniques to tell a poignant, funny and very modern story of gentrification and culture clash in a Cornish fishing village.
Accompanied by Sia Ahmad, Gwenno’s electric soundscape for Bait weaves synth loops, guitar drones and live vocals. As a prelude to the screening, Gwenno will treat us to a solo performance of her gorgeous synth-pop Cornish and Welsh language songs.
