Iconic Aussie actors and Festival favourites Bryan Brown and Sam Neill are back in town.

Last year, Bryan interviewed Sam at the Festival. This year, it’s Bryan’s turn in the hot seat as Sam interviews him about his gripping new crime novel, The Drowning. Bryan is one of the most recognisable faces on our screens with more than 80 film and television projects to his name. This sensational new thriller with his characteristic laconic style – humorous, tough and suspenseful – confirms his place as one of the great Australian storytellers.

Bryan Brown – Presenter

Bryan Brown is known as an actor, having appeared in over eighty film and television shows. He has worked in some twenty countries including his home country of Australia and the United States. Sweet Jimmy, consisting of seven short stories on crime, was released in 2021. The Drowning is his second book.

Sam Neill – Facilitator

Sam Neill was born in 1947. He has appeared in almost 100 feature films and dozens of TV series in a career spanning half a century. His memoir, Did I Ever Tell You This?, was published in 2023.
