9:00pm - Marcus Miller

Consistently recognised as one of the greatest electric bassists of all time, Marcus Miller has been at the top of his game for over 40 years.

Renowned for his legendary technique and feel, Miller has been the first-choice player for artists so great they need only go by one name: Miles. Dizzy. Aretha. Chaka. Elton. Herbie.

A musical polymath, the multi-GRAMMY award winning Miller has been one of the most recorded and prolific collaborators, composers, producers, arrangers, and band leaders in modern music. Through it all, Miller has maintained a firm grip on the ever-changing musical zeitgeist, putting out virtuosic, groove-heavy albums that speak to their time and place, always accompanied by an impressive cast of masters.

Performing material from across his staggering career, prepare to be blown away by Miller in his long-awaited Australian debut.

Virtuosic brilliance from the world's coolest thumbslinger – The Evening Standard ★★★★★

Supporting Marcus Miller will be Hilary Geddes Trio

Award-winning composer, improviser and guitarist Hilary Geddes leads a trio comprised of a new generation of improvisers. Featuring the stellar Maximillian Alduca (double bass) and Alexander Inman-Hislop (drums), the trio will be performing material from Geddes' acclaimed debut album, Parkside, released in 2021 with ABC Jazz.

"...amidst the creak of a double bass and the rush of brushed cymbals and Geddes comes alive. Her dizzying, inventive guitar parts leave jaws on the jazz-club floor." — David James Young, Junkee

"...a discerning sonic sculptor..." —  John Shand, SMH

Switched On

Switched On flicks the switch on an iconic venue and activates the Hall in a new light. A sonic shift to contemporary music and a whole new dimension in listening.
