A Message from Piano+ Presents

We regret to inform you that Alexandra Dariescu in Sydney has been cancelled. It has been a difficult decision to make and we do so with a heavy heart. The decline in audience demand due to the current economic climate has meant the series is no longer possible.

All concert tickets, including packages to the remaining performances in the series will be refunded. Please accept our sincere apologies for any disappointment this may have caused you.

Please note that Piano+ performance of The Young Virtuosi – Violin and Piano Recital Series with Jeonghwan Kim (piano) and Yeyeong Jenny Jin (violin) on Saturday 16 November 2024, 7:30pm – Verbrugghen Hall will still proceed.

We are very grateful for your understanding and continued support.

Piano+ International Artists Recital Series. Join us for the world’s best international soloists in recital.

Alexandra Dariescu is a trailblazing British/Romanian pianist who demonstrates fearless curiosity and ground-breaking innovation in her work, including championing lesser known composers, particularly female composers.

In demand as a soloist worldwide, she has performed with eminent orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Oslo Philharmonic and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Alexandra program, entitled A Child’s Dream,  is connected to the 30th anniversary of her début concerto. It is a captivating anthology of pieces, some you may never have heard before, others more familiar, but all of them dear to Alexandra’s heart. The recital finishes with one of the first collections she mastered as a mature concert pianist, Chopin’s beautiful 24 Preludes.

Says Alexandra:

"A Child’s Dream is a reflection of my personal journey in the music world, from some of the very first pieces I played as a child to significant milestones, sharing with you all my exciting story.

This program showcases the music that has been my lifelong companion, travelling with me across the globe.

I invite you to join me on this exciting journey through my musical stories and hear, alongside some of the most popular and cherished piano pieces ever written, some hidden gems by neglected composers throughout history, voices that deserve to be heard."

Experience these musical treasures performed by this supremely talented, one-of-a-kind artist at the City Recital Hall, Sydney.
