This program pitches an Australian premiere alongside a well-loved masterwork by two European composers. Jean Sibelius' Violin Concerto is a staple of any violinists' repertoire known for its extreme virtuosity and dazzling orchestral effects.

An explosive 14 piece feel-good Latin Big Band featuring Australia's best Latin and Jazz musicians, Mucho Mambo’s powerhouse dynamic and distinctive sound blends bold, brassy riffs and driving percussion with big band arrangements and cool old style Latin grooves.

Celebrations of Beethoven’s 250th Birthday continue with this gorgeous program of two of the masters’ most popular sonatas for violin and piano performed by SSO Concertmaster Andrew Haveron and Kathryn Selby AM. 

 

Miriam Lieberman Trio

Playing favourite songs from past albums as well as songs from their upcoming EP, the Miriam Lieberman Trio meld voices in harmony, soaring violins, the 21-string West African harp and guitar, creating a sound that is both uplifting and filled with wanderlust.

1984! The Musical!

Taking Orwell’s classic soul-crushing tale, and adding toe-tapping tunes, 1984! The Musical! is Nineteen Eighty-Four like you’ve never seen it before! Join us on our dystopic romp: a light-hearted comedy in concert about totalitarianism, thought-police, surveillance states, and sex.

 

Kristin Berardi and Sam Anning

Kristin Berardi and Sam Anning perform their jazz album Our Songs, Not Songs. Both Berardi and Anning are recipients of the National Jazz Award among other accolades and have joined forces to bring a stunning collection of their own song-writings together in the spare setting of voice and upright bass.
