A Voyage of Musical Discovery continues in 2019 in tandem with the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra’s main concert season. Each Voyage invites exceptional guest musicians to join the orchestra on stage, and together they provide listeners with live examples and explanations of the compositional similarities between historical and Australian contemporary works.

Lior teams up with the Madness & Confrontation vocalists Jacqueline Porter and David Greco. They explain and demonstrate the many methods that composers and performers negotiate ‘Phrasing & Form’ in historical as well as Australian contemporary works.

The orchestra shares the stage with Jane Rutter and her Third Culture World Music Ensemble. Together they explain the different ways that ‘Cultural & Historical Contexts’ influence composition and performance from the early-Classical Mannheim School to Australian contemporary and Chinese music.

A capella group The Idea of North join the orchestra’s musicians to explain and show the role that ‘Dynamics & Expressive Techniques’ play in bringing early-Romantic to contemporary Australian chamber works to life.

 

A booking fee per transaction applies for this event as follows: Internet $6.60, Phone $8.25. There is no booking fee for tickets purchased in person at the City Recital Hall Box Office. City Recital Hall Members enjoy waived transaction fees.
