Get to know the performers and instruments of Omega Ensemble, in our captivating lunchtime series, A Taste of Omega. Take time out from your busy day with exquisite chamber music performed by some of the finest musicians in the country.
Acclaimed operatic star Lee Abrahmsen performs vocal masterpieces featuring clarinet, piano, flute and cello.
Ravel’s Chansons madécasses was one of his first forays into writing for the voice since his time as a student at the Paris Conservatoire. Spohr’s Six German Songs take centre stage in this program, featuring the intricate combination of instruments and voice working together and sharing the spotlight.
Abrahmsen concludes this stunning program with Schubert’s ‘The Shepherd on the Rock’. Composed near the end of his life, Schubert depicts a shepherd who is lamenting his loneliness. The work concludes with the coming of spring and signs of hope.
Indulge in the spirit and warmth of the human voice in this delicately balanced program.
