William Hogarth was the great social observer of 18th century London. His portraits and etchings depicted all classes of human behaviour in the midst of living loud, brazen and sometimes even virtuous lives. Inspired by Hogarth’s ability to bring the sounds and citizens of a city alive, the indefatigable Wendy Sharpe joins the Australian Art Quartet live on stage in this unique concert experience. Featuring the music of Handel, Pärt and Shostakovich, you will witness Wendy create a Hogarth-inspired Sydney, using the interior northern wall of the City Recital Hall as her canvas.
This performance is part of Unashamedly Original, a two-day festival of multidisciplinary performances that push the envelope of sight and sound, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July.
