The Spooky Men’s Chorale

The Spooky Men's Chorale

The Spooky Men’s Chorale

Highly theatrical, they veer from weird to touching and back again. Grown-up entertainment in the best, most infantile way. Don’t miss an opportunity to see them” Daily Telegraph (UK)

Stand back and admire the beautifully sung anarchy” Glasgow Herald

Ennobled by improbable facial hair, burdened by a vast, lovable incomprehension, and dignified with cavernous vocal chords, The Spooky Men's Chorale have been gleefully smashing up and reassembling the world of men's singing since 2001, employing a devastating combination of beauty and stupidity to comment on the unsolvable paradoxes of being a man.

Formed in the Blue Mountains by spookmeister Stephen Taberner, the Spooky Men have become legends on the Australian folk circuit performing at WOMADelaide; The National Folk Festival; Woodford, Cygnet and Port Fairy Folk Festivals; and Hobart Festival of Voices amongst others. August 2017 will see them back in the UK for their 7th delirious summer of spookmania at major festivals and theatrical venues, followed by a tour of Denmark later in the year.

With repertoire combining a judicious combination of Georgian table songs, vaudevillian nonsense, pindrop beautiful ballads, highly inappropriate covers, and immaculate man anthems, the Spooky Men have built a reputation for highly amusing and stylish musical performances.
