Playlist. One musician’s inspiration, one informal hour. Get to know Associate Principal Oboe Shefali Pryor through the music that has inspired her.
Oboist Shefali Pryor is an SSO success story: coming up through the ranks of our orchestral training programs to win a well-deserved place in the orchestra. For her Playlist concert she’s chosen highlights from the great symphonic classics, with the finales from Haydn’s Mourning Symphony and Mahler’s Fourth, Mendelssohn’s irresistible Scottish Symphony, and one of Britten’s awe-inspiring Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes. Shefali’s own instrument takes the spotlight in music by Bach, specially arranged by her colleague Alexandre Oguey.
Playlist lets you get up close and personal with members of the SSO as they present some of the music that has touched their lives over years of music-making. Join us at the cash bar after the concert and meet the musicians!
