So why not join us for a late night spotlight session of two 20-minute live sets this July with Mataya? This brief interlude into music on your Thursday night is bound to stimulate your senses and feed your soul.
Mataya delivers a warm and honest performance, combining her upbringing as a jazz vocalist/pianist with modern neo soul and urban feels. She often performs with her father, saxophonist Micky Young, whose soaring emotive spirit and honest approach to performance has gained the respect of musicians and audiences around the country. The father daughter duo offer a rare, engaging and intimate musical experience.
Mataya notably features on Hermitudes' hit single 'The Buzz', the Thundamentals Aria nominated album 'So We Can Remember' and more recently on their Triple J favourite ‘Sally’. She has performed as a feature artist at venues across the country and festivals including Splendour in The Grass, Yours and Owls, Groovin The Moo, and Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas.

This event is held in the City Recital Hall ground floor foyer. Seating is in a cocktail-table format and not allocated, so arrive early to enjoy a refreshment and secure a good seat!
