2by20 Feat. Bonniesongs (Strings EP Launch)

Wander down the Angel Place laneways and follow your curiosity inside the doors of City Recital Hall. Discover our intimate late night series, 2by20, where tunes go down well with a drink in hand. We know each artist will dazzle you with their own interpretations of cabaret, jazz, folk, RnB, musical theatre, original works and beyond.

So why not join us for a late night spotlight session of two 20-minute live sets with Bonniesongs this September? This brief interlude into music on your Thursday night is bound to stimulate your senses and feed your soul.

Sydney based art-folk virtuoso Bonnie Stewart (Ireland), aka Bonniesongs, is one of those subtly transcendent artists, with lilting vocals floating over gentle peaks of acoustic and electronic instruments, layered ethereally into what may be a moderately enchanted loop pedal. At 2by20 in September, Bonniesongs will be launching her new EP Strings (Art As Catharsis), a colourful four-track journey that challenges the modern conventions the Australian folk scene is oft beholden to. Strings in its entirety offers refreshing bursts of complexity and wonder. Bonniesongs will be backed by collaborators Freya Schack-Arnott on cello and Noam Yaffe on violin.

Duration: 60 minutes including interval
