Music And Film – Passion
Tuesday 20 April 6.00pm
Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Music Café
‘Passion’ the 1999 film outlining the life of Percy Grainger will launch the Friends of the Con regular film evenings featuring music, musicians and composers. An all Australian company created this film. Directed by Peter Duncan, produced by Matt Carroll and starring Richard Roxburgh as Percy the film explores his brilliance at composition, his tempestuous relationship with his mother and graphically depicts the social attitudes of the times towards ‘artists’ in this wide brown land when sheep and cricket took precedence over art and artists on the scale of ‘what is of social value?’
Join us to view the film and enjoy refreshments afterwards. We have extended an invitation to Richard Roxburgh to join us.
