PLEASE NOTE this performance is at Sydney Town Hall. The 2014 Primary Proms features a musically diverse array of choral and instrumental performances by NSW Public and High School students in the Centennial Hall of the Sydney Town Hall. This outstanding concert series involves hundreds of students from Years 3 and 4 across the state in the combined choir. Items by exceptional vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles add further variety to these concerts.
Praised for his “lyrical precision” (Peter McCallum, The Sydney Morning Herald), Stephen Hough returns with the same precision and refined poise to an exquisitely crafted recital which at the heart sits the poetry of Chopin’s four ballads framed by sparkling Debussy miniatures.
Selby & Friends is delighted to welcome the great Swedish cellist Torleif Thedeen in recital, in a program that features the music of Beethoven, Debussy and Grieg, as well as a world premiere by Australian composer Paul Dean. In Tour 4 Torleif is joined by pianist and Artistic Director, Kathryn Selby AM.

SARA BAREILLES Frontier Touring are very excited for the return of singer-songwriter and pianist/guitarist Sara Bareilles to perform all ages shows in Australia and for the first time New Zealand this September!
Germany’s esteemed Faust Quartet tour to Australia to join with Omega Ensemble, culminating in a performance of the glorious Mendelssohn String Octet. Dimitri Ashkenazy (clarinet), who has thrilled audiences in past seasons, also augments the Ensemble to perform the rarely heard Martinu Serenade for Two Clarinets, Violin, Viola and Cello.
