Sydney Conservatorium of Music Rising Stars Tours, Semester 1. Join us for a tour of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with one of our knowledgeable volunteer guides. Explore the whole site and learn about the history of the area, what lies underneath the grand Verbrugghen Hall, why the building resembles a castle, and admire the handmade convict brickwork. With the Royal Botanic Gardens above and trains running below, the modern extension completed in 2001 is an architectural marvel. Come and explore the hidden corridors where our most talented young musicians practice, learn and perform.

Come and join the audience for the concert world premiere of Gavin Lockley and Ann Blainey’s ‘King of the Air: The Charles Kingsford Smith Musical’ and ‘King of the Air Piano Concerto’. With Simon Tedeschi, Sarah-Grace Williams and The Metropolitan Orchestra and Rum Corps Choir. Hosted by Stuart Maunder AM and featuring soloists Daniel Belle, Renae Martin, Meredith O’Reilly and David Hooley, the evening is presented by the Friends of The Royal Flying Doctor Service in support of Australia’s most iconic charity, the RFDS. Guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the roaring 20’s and come appropriately attired!
