In a rare soloistic performance, the singers of The Song Company and Ironwood Chamber Ensemble combine to present Johann Sebastian Bach’s magnificent Mass in B Minor, featuring one voice per part vocal scoring. Widely regarded as one of the supreme achievements of classical music, this monumental work, completed at the end of Bach’s life, combines his stylistic and technical brilliance.
Tracing a mystical and imaginary traveller throughout Europe, Paul Dyer AO has designed a musical fantasy reflecting the riches, wit, mysteriousness and exotic sounds of the far away Orient. Inspired by sacredness and the glorious sounds of Chant, as well as the artistic movements of the Oriental Baroque, the music will be a creative meditation, dominated by the plaintive sounds and exciting tapestry of the Ottoman Baroque.
LTN turns TEN! This year’s concert promises to be the biggest yet with some of Australia’s top artists joining us to celebrate this monumental occasion. The Light the Night Benefit Concert is inspired by Matthew Rennie and his three year battle with leukaemia. This annual event has raised over $400,000 for leukaemia research and cancer patient resources. Monies raised from this year’s concert will fund the Light the Night Research Grant undertaken by St Vincent’s Hospital.
